BMS: management, safety and communication

The BMS battery management system ensures the safety of lithium batteries, which makes it the most important component of a battery. This technology allows a real time control of the cells’ functioning and constitute a protection for lithium batteries against any type of risks.

TYVA Energie’s BMS are developed internally by the hardware and software Engineers of our Research Unit. They are the most ergonomic electronic cards on the market thanks to their compact and light design able to adjust to any application field in terms of size or use. Thus they ensure small batteries’ protection for systems from 40 Wh to 1000 kWh.

A single BMS card is sufficient to manage a 60 V nominal voltage and 15 lithium cells in series. True to our principles, our BMS are also modular and operating with a Master/Slave topology to protect batteries with a rated voltage of 800 V maximum.

Our smart BMS communicate directly with their external environment: it can be wireless communication with the Bluetooth Low Energy technology (BLE), or wired communication with the isolated CAN 2.0B or SMBus output. Some BMS are fitted with a SD card providing a 20-years memory and recording every occurences related to the battery in order to avoid warranty disputes for good.

BMS LC80

BMS LC80 can monitor 3 to 15 cells in series. It is characterized by its maximum current of 60 amps as well as its CAN 2.0B communication bus.

Unlike BMS PRO’s SD card, BMS LC80 has an internal memory able to record the battery’s activity.
